What is “PAYPAL *” on my credit card statement?
A card statement line that starts with PAYPAL * means the payment went through PayPal. The seller’s business name can appear after it.
What PayPal says
From the source page:
Your business name could be displayed on your customers’ credit card statement after the word PayPal *. For example, (PayPal *SELLER NAME).

How to check this charge
- Look for the name after PAYPAL * in your PayPal activity or in your email receipts.
- PayPal says a purchase paid by bank transfer shows PAYPALINST XFER instead of the seller’s name, and that you should log in to PayPal and look for the payment in History.
Your bank may show the text differently or shorten it.
