Free Business Name Generator
Type a keyword or two, pick an industry and style, and get a list of business name ideas you can copy. Names are made by combining your keywords with generic words, so every result still needs to be checked: this tool cannot tell you whether a name is taken.
Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Results are estimates based on the rates shown. Your actual fees depend on your agreement with the provider.
How to use it
- Enter a keyword or two (optional) and choose your industry and the name styles you like.
- Generate names, and press the button again for a fresh batch. Copy any name you like.
- Check each shortlisted name against your state's business records, the USPTO trademark database and a domain search before you form your LLC.
How the names are made
The generator combines your keywords with a short list of generic words for the industry you pick, and sometimes adds a prefix like Bright or a business word like Studio or Supply. It follows the style you choose: one joined word, two words, or a name with a business word on the end.
Because the word lists are generic, many results will not be unique to you. A good name is one that is available in your state, does not conflict with an existing trademark, and has a domain you can use. The tool checks none of those.
Everything is generated in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.

Frequently asked questions
Does this tool check if a business name is available?
No. It generates ideas only. Check your state's business entity search for name availability, the USPTO's trademark search for conflicts, and a domain search for the website.
Does my LLC name have to include "LLC"?
Most states require a designator such as LLC or Limited Liability Company in the name, with rules that vary by state. Check the rules of the state where you file.
Can I use a name that is similar to an existing business?
It can cause problems if the name is confusingly similar to a registered trademark, even if your state allows it. Search before you commit, and consider asking a qualified attorney for a trademark opinion.
What makes a good business name?
Easy to spell and say, available as a domain, not too narrow if you may expand, and clear of conflicts with existing businesses. Test a shortlist with a few people.
Is anything uploaded when I use the generator?
No. It runs in your browser.
